Supporting Communities and charities

KQ Liverpool is dedicated to supporting the local community and working with charities on a number of different initiatives.

From running our own major fundraising challenges like 'LCR In a Day', to providing food bank donation points across the innovation district, hosting charity bake sales within local workspaces, to promoting events being run by charities located within our innovation district, we are always keen to champion to fantastic work being undertaken by the communities that surround us.

Inclusive Innovation for Residents

As part of our 2040 Vision, we are on a mission to ensure that residents living within KQ Liverpool's boundaries are aware that they reside within the Knowledge Quarter and understand how our work can positively impact them.

This includes inspiring local young people to pursue careers in health, science and technology, right here on their doorsteps, through our KQ Futures programme, collaborating with stakeholders to deliver innovative transport solutions, and doubling the number of knowledge intensive jobs within our innovation district.

Expanding Networks

We bring like-minded cultural and commercial organisations, academics, clinicians, scientists and community groups together with purpose, through strategic partnerships, attracting talent and driving investment.

With over 400 businesses located in KQ Liverpool, employing over 15,000 people, plus 60,000+ students studying at universities and colleges within our innovation district, we have a unique network of creative, entrepreneurial and innovative talent.

However our network doesn't end there - we are advocates for innovation across the entire Liverpool City Region, sharing best practice across the North and wider UK, as well as promoting Liverpool on a global stage.

Economic Impact

The Knowledge Quarter has attracted unprecedented levels of investment, positioning Liverpool as a major centre for innovation and research.

The Liverpool City Region Innovation Zone, anchored within the Knowledge Quarter, has secured £160 million in government funding over 10 years, designed to leverage up to £800 million in private investment. This strategic funding program aims to create 8,000 new high-skilled jobs across the region.
