Shaping Innovation Ecosystems: Best Practices for Stakeholder Engagement

Discover new evidence on how place, institutions and actors shape SME innovation—and what it means for inclusive, sustainable growth.

This interactive session will unveil the project’s final report and share new evidence on how place‑based inequalities, institutional arrangements, and individual agency shape SME innovation across the UK.

At a time when national and local strategies emphasise inclusive innovation and sustainable growth, this research offers timely insights for those designing, funding, or navigating innovation ecosystems.

The project explored:

  • How individual actors, institutions, and socioeconomic conditions interact to influence SME innovation activities.

  • Best practices aimed at promoting supportive innovation ecosystems

The workshop aims to bring together different stakeholders (SMEs, support institutions, policymakers, practitioners, academics, etc.) to discuss the findings, reflect on practical implications, and consider how these insights can inform future policy and programme design.

This is a HYBRID event. Please RSVP by 20th May 2026.
